The former site of the birthplace of Benjamin Rush, who signed the Declaration of Independence, opposed slavery, and supported public health & social reforms. Dr. Rush was known as "Father of American Psychiatry." His birthhome was built in 1690 and was accidentally destroyed by a bulldozer in February 1969.
