Woodford Mansion

In 1758 William Coleman, a Philadelphia merchant and close friend of Benjamin Franklin, built this elegant country home. A National Historic Landmark, the home is one of the most handsome survivors of the early "summer retreats" that were built along the Schuylkill River during the eighteenth and early nineteenth century. The house is furnished with an extraordinary collection of 18th and early 19th century antiques and decorative arts begun by Naomi Wood, a Philadelphia-born collector.
